Hideout, Morzine
TERMS & CONDITIONS.
Booking and website terms · Version 2.1 · Last updated 29 September 2026
These terms apply when you book a stay or a table with Hideout, and when you use this website and Lucky, our chat assistant. Together with our privacy policy and any other written information we gave you before we confirmed your booking, they form your contract with SARL Braveheart, trading as Hideout (“we” or “us”).
“You” means the lead booker and everyone on whose behalf a booking is made, or to whom a booking is added or transferred. By booking, the lead booker confirms that they have read these terms and accept them on behalf of everyone in the party.
If you booked through an online travel agency, its own booking terms apply (section 30).
1. Who we are
Hideout (Hideout Hostel and the Passaquin apartments), 60 Route des Udrezants, 74110 Morzine, France, is run by SARL Braveheart.
Email info@stayhideout.com · Telephone +33 7 68 63 48 21.
Our company details are published in our legal notice.
2. Your booking and our contract
Your booking is confirmed when you have paid the deposit, or the full amount if you arrive within 10 weeks, and we have sent you a confirmation email. The contract exists from that point, and the confirmation email is its record. Please check it straight away and tell us urgently about any errors or omissions.
The lead booker must be 18 or over. The hotel rooms and dorms are adults only; we can occasionally make an exception, so email info@stayhideout.com and ask before you book.
3. Payment
If you arrive more than 10 weeks after booking, a 50% non-refundable deposit confirms the booking, and the balance is due 10 weeks before arrival.
If you book within 10 weeks of arrival, full payment is due when you book. Once paid, the balance is non-refundable.
If a payment is not received by its due date, we may cancel the booking.
4. Standard and non-refundable rates
At our standard rate, you are not entitled to a refund or change once the balance is due, within 10 weeks of arrival. We will consider requests to change a booking before then case by case, but cannot guarantee them.
Where we offer a non-refundable rate, it is paid in full when you book and cannot be refunded or changed at any time, unless we cancel your booking.
5. Prices, VAT and tourist tax
All prices are in euros and include VAT at the applicable rate. The prices shown on our website and in our promotions apply at the time you book, and the price on your confirmation is guaranteed unless you change the booking.
Tourist tax (taxe de séjour) is charged per adult per night at the rate set by the local authority for the season, and is not included in the room price. Ask us for the current amount.
We may change our rates, for example because of inflation or supplier costs. Changes never affect bookings we have already confirmed.
If, exceptionally, we cannot provide the room you booked, we will give you a room of equal or better standard at no extra cost.
6. Cancellation
If you cancel
The lead booker must cancel in writing (email is fine). The charge depends on the date we receive your cancellation and is a percentage of the total accommodation cost, excluding tourist tax:
More than 70 days before arrival: 50% (your deposit)
69 to 35 days before arrival: 75%
34 days or less before arrival: 100%
Once you have checked in, we do not refund or change unused nights, whatever rate you booked.
If we cancel
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your booking, we will refund everything you have paid and offer an indemnity, as a percentage of the total accommodation cost: 50% more than 70 days before arrival; 75% from 69 to 35 days; 100% at 34 days or less.
Events outside anyone’s control
Neither of us is responsible for failing to perform this contract because of force majeure, as defined by article 1218 of the French Civil Code: an event beyond reasonable control that could not reasonably have been foreseen or avoided, such as extreme weather, a natural disaster or an order from the authorities. If force majeure stops us providing nights you have paid for, we will refund those nights or, if you prefer, credit them to a future stay. No indemnity is due in that case.
7. No 14-day cancellation period
The 14-day right of withdrawal that applies to many online and distance purchases does not apply to accommodation or restaurant services booked for a specific date or period (article L221-28 12° of the French Consumer Code). A booking can be cancelled only as set out in section 6.
8. Passaquin apartments
These terms also apply to the Passaquin apartments. The apartments are self-catered: breakfast is not included, and you may bring your own food and drink into your apartment.
9. Restaurant and table bookings
Table bookings on this website are handled by our booking partner ResDiary. For groups of 12 or more, email eat@stayhideout.com.
The hotel is adults only; the restaurant is not, and children are welcome.
Please tell us about any allergies or dietary needs when you book, and speak to our team before you order. Menus, dishes and prices change with the season. Allergen information comes from our team, not from this website or Lucky.
10. Promo codes and best price guarantee
Promo codes. Enter your promo code at online checkout when you book. Promo codes cannot be combined with other offers and cannot be added after full payment.
Best price guarantee. Book direct, and if you find the same stay cheaper elsewhere, tell us and we will match the price.
11. Our responsibility to you
We will provide your accommodation and our services with reasonable skill and care.
We are not responsible for loss, injury or damage caused by your own acts or omissions or those of your party, by third parties unconnected with our services, or by force majeure (section 6).
We are not responsible for travel disruption caused by the weather, such as blocked roads, missed flights or airline delays.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that French law does not allow us to limit, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Travel agents and package holidays
If you book through a travel agent or another third-party company, we share with them the information needed for your booking, and they may take payment from you. Information or advice they give you that did not come from us is their responsibility, so any claim about it should go to them.
We sell accommodation only. We do not sell package holidays or linked travel arrangements, so package-travel rules do not apply to bookings made with us.
13. Building and maintenance work
We will tell you about any planned building or refurbishment work at the hostel or the apartments during your stay. Occasional unplanned maintenance may be needed.
Work outside our buildings is not our responsibility and we cannot predict it, but if it disturbs you we will speak to those responsible to find a solution.
14. Check-in and check-out
Check-in is from the time shown in your booking confirmation. Check-out is by 10am.
If you arrive before your room is ready, you can leave your luggage with us at your own risk.
Late and contactless check-in are available: tell us your arrival time, and we will send access details by text message or email on or before your arrival day.
Late check-out is subject to availability and is charged for.
15. Confirmation and invoice
When we receive your deposit or full payment, we email your booking confirmation and invoice. Please check them when they arrive and tell us immediately about any errors or omissions.
16. Accessibility and guests with disabilities
We welcome all guests, including guests with disabilities, and try to meet individual needs. Please tell us about any disability or special requirements when you book, so that we can check we can accommodate you. Special facilities can be requested but cannot always be guaranteed.
If, acting reasonably, we cannot properly meet the needs of someone in your party, we will not confirm the booking. If we were not given full details when you booked, we may cancel it, and the cancellation charges apply.
The hostel rooms are on the second and third floors, and the building has no lift.
17. Behaviour and damage
Please respect other guests, our staff and our neighbours. If anyone in your party causes, or is likely to cause, distress, danger or upset to guests, staff or restaurant and bar customers, or damages property, we may end your booking immediately. You will then have to leave, and we will not refund unused nights or pay any resulting costs.
You and each member of your party are jointly and individually responsible for any loss or damage you cause, and must pay for it before you leave. If you do not, you will be responsible for any resulting claims against us and our reasonable costs of recovering the amount.
We are not responsible for the behaviour of other guests or of people unconnected with your booking.
18. Travel insurance
All guests must have personal travel insurance for their stay. It is your responsibility to make sure that you and your party are adequately insured for the whole trip, including travel to and from Morzine: accidents, illness, mountain sports, third-party liability, damage you cause to the property, and your own belongings.
We do not sell winter sports or travel insurance.
19. Travel documents
You must obtain any passports, visas, health certificates, international driving licences and other documents your trip needs, and make sure they are valid. Please check the latest requirements before you travel.
20. Complaints and mediation
If something is wrong during your stay, tell our team straight away so that we can put it right.
If a problem is still unresolved, email info@stayhideout.com with the details and we will reply.
If we cannot resolve your complaint, you can refer it free of charge to a consumer mediator (médiateur de la consommation). Email us and we will give you the mediator’s details.
21. Public holidays and seasonal changes
Local facilities may change or close on national or public holidays and between seasons, and we cannot accept responsibility for this. Please check with the Morzine tourist office before you arrive.
22. Special requests
Tell us about special requests, such as dietary needs or allergies, when you book, and confirm them in writing. We will do our best to meet reasonable requests but cannot guarantee them.
23. Other suppliers
Extras we recommend, such as transfers, lift passes, equipment hire and lessons, are provided by independent suppliers under their own terms, which may limit their liability to you. We can give you a copy of the relevant terms on request.
We recommend suppliers with a good track record, but we are not responsible for the services they provide.
24. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of that country’s law, and, where the law allows, you can bring a claim in the courts of France or of the country where you live.
25. Food and drink
In the hostel, only food and drink bought from us may be consumed on the premises, so please do not bring your own alcohol, food or drinks. This does not apply inside the self-catered apartments.
26. Smoking
The hostel is strictly non-smoking. You may smoke only in the designated outdoor areas, where ashtrays are provided. If anyone in your party smokes inside, you will be charged a cleaning fee of up to €500.
27. Pets and animals
We do not accept pets or other animals at any of our properties. If anyone in your party brings an animal inside, you will be charged a cleaning fee of €100.
28. Mountain activities
Skiing, snowboarding, biking and other mountain activities carry a risk of injury. Information and recommendations we give about them are general guidance only. Take the training and precautions each activity needs, and follow the conditions of the suppliers you use.
29. This website and Lucky, our chat assistant
We try to keep this website accurate and up to date, but it may contain errors. Prices, availability and offers are confirmed only by our booking system or our team.
Lucky is an automated AI assistant. Its answers are general guidance, may be inaccurate or out of date, and are not a booking, quote or contract. Current prices, availability, allergens and policies are confirmed only by our booking system or our team. How we handle chat conversations is explained in our privacy policy.

30. Bookings through online travel agencies
If you booked through an online travel agency, such as Booking.com or Hostelworld, that agency’s booking terms apply to your booking. For questions, or to book direct, email info@stayhideout.com.
