Morzine’s most ridiculous film competition.

Every winter, teams of skiers, snowboarders, seasonnaires and locals pick up a camera and head into the mountains to create their own short film.

The result is the Morzine Film Awards: a celebration of skiing, snowboarding, creativity, comedy and everything that makes winter in Morzine so much fun.

Teams have a limited amount of time to come up with an idea, film it around Morzine and the Portes du Soleil, and turn it into their very own short film. Expect big mountain scenes, questionable acting, ridiculous storylines and plenty of local humour.

THE BIG NIGHT

Then comes the big night. The films are brought together for a huge screening, where the local community comes out to watch, cheer on their favourites and find out who takes home the awards.

But it’s not just about the films. The Morzine Film Awards are also about bringing the community together and supporting local causes, with the event raising money for local charities.

Whether you’re behind the camera, starring in a film, cheering from the audience or simply there for the atmosphere, it’s one of those nights that captures the spirit of winter in Morzine.

    Grab your mates, come up with an idea and get ready to make something memorable.

  2. Hit the mountain

    Head up the hill and film your MFA entry anywhere in the Portes du Soleil. Go big, go silly, ideally both.

  3. Watch it with your mates

    Premiere night on the big screen. Drinks in hand, cheer loud, heckle louder.

  4. Hopefully win

    Prizes and the glory, until next season.
